I miss seeing bluebells along the road!
to remind myself to have an open heart (:
15 Mar“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless–it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.”
- C. S. Lewis

The Paradoxical Commandments
by Dr. Kent M. Keith
People may be illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you may win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness makes you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.
People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway. [Keep the faith!]
People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you might get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.

1 FebOn the bus today, I passed a certain jaysee in the dover area. Through the bus window and the green fence yonder, I spotted a mass of bright coloured shirts donned by people along the bleachers.
Sports day? Can’t be. Then it clicked – it’s January, some people I know have entered jaysees… ah, orientation!
Ah, my juniors, 5 years later. Their hearts are brimming with dreams. It’s written on their faces. I love that about youth. An imaginary hand extends from me to pat their heads, while my real nose wrinkles as their perspiration evaporates into the bus’ air. I might add, the ones with the special white shirts (i.e. oh gee elles) walked with an air of extra confidence as they gathered their ‘kids’. I love that sense of ownership.
Those were the days when all we ever worried about was studies [if we did worry, considering the school culture].
Recalling all the memories of 06/07, I smiled to myself. Gotta love it.
which drum do you march to?
21 JanCelebrate people.
Take the high road – treat others better than the way they treat you.
-John Maxwell
40 “He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. 41 He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. 42 And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”
-Matthew 10:40-42 (NKJV)

8 JanI’ve found love, as deep as the ocean,
And your eyes, they hit me like a train
And your words serenade me like the sweetest of songs
Here I find peace again, again

6 JanIt’s an exciting privilege to release Kingdom values and leak out His presence where you are. Yes Y-O-U (points at people around and at herself), who are of royal blood.
We always asks for opportunities to change society. And as another shares she realises, the opportunities are always there in our faces. That includes what begins on 210211 (:

27 Dec“You must pay attention to the dreams in your heart because they are meaningful to God. Don’t downplay the desires of your heart. God will use them to place you in society as an agent of restoration.” – Banning Liebscher
at the turn of the tide
1 DecCome away with me, come away with me
It’s never too late, it’s not too late, it’s not too late for you
I have a plan for you, I have a plan for you
It’s gonna be wild, it’s gonna be great, it’s gonna be full of me
Open up your heart and let me in
heart-jerker. my heart cannot but be moved.
I am my beloved’s and He is mine
28 NovYou never do me wrong,
the meekest man but strong,
the most perfect song,
You are my passion.
My strength in life is I am Yours,
my soul delights because I am Yours.
-You are my Passion (Jesus Culture)
The hope of all hearts is You,
Your love never fails.
-Hope of All Hearts (Planetshakers)
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
-Turn your eyes upon Jesus (Helen Lemmel)
Don’t mess with me, because I’ve got an awesome Maker!
If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31
See as He sees.
Love because He first loved me.
Blessed to be a blessing.
An Old Irish Blessing
23 NovMay the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
She distinctly remembers learning this song before she turned thirteen. Then, it was a mellifluous choral piece adapted from a lovely old Irish blessing. Now, it is well suited for times like these, when people are dispersing all over the globe. Truth to be told, a couple of them are coming back, but she won’t be here by then.
Part of her wants to grab everything she loves, hold on tight, and bring those dear people and things with her wherever she goes next. But she knows that for the next season, they are called to permeate different pillars of society in different geographical areas.
So she lets go, grateful that their paths have intertwined by divine appointment, comforted that He watches over them all. They will be safe in His arms. She trusts that they will be led into deeper waters with the One who matters most. She smiles, knowing that they are destined to do great things. It’s in their blood, because they are royalty.
As she lets go, she finds that she is carrying a piece of those treasured people and things. For the things of importance have made a mark on her life. The treasures have gently permeated her heart. She will fondly remember all the gems with which she has been blessed for the seasons past. For every good and perfect gift comes from above.
